The John James Chenille needles size 24 are fine, sharp embroidery needles with a large eye, specially suited for decorative hand stitching, stitchery and Big Stitch Quilting. Thanks to their shape and sharp point, they glide smoothly through fabric and wool, while the generous eye works comfortably with slightly thicker threads.
This size is widely used for Big Stitch Quilting and is a favourite among quilt designers, including Mariëtte Leunisse of Cosy by Jet. They are also an excellent choice for stitchery and decorative hand stitches when you want the stitch to be visible without becoming too bold.
With their sharp point and larger eye, these needles are suitable for Perlé cotton size 8, such as WonderFil Eleganza #8, Razzle #8 and Dazzle #8, as well as for couching (securing a thicker thread or ribbon on top of the fabric with small stitches) and wool appliqué using threads like WonderFil Ellana #12.
